High-Mix CNC Machining Facility • 20 to 30 Operators
Transitioning from Magnetic Whiteboards to Multi-Screen TV Displays
The Operational Challenge: The shop ran multiple milling and turning centres across two bays. Daily scheduling was handled on a 10-foot magnetic whiteboard located in the supervisor office. When rush orders came in or tooling arrived late, updates required manual board erasing, verbal phone calls, and repeated shop floor walks to re-sequence jobs.
The Digital Implementation: Synctile was deployed across two overhead TV screens mounted in the main machining cells and paired with tablet access for production supervisors. Jobs were imported directly from weekly work orders into visual colour-coded queues.
The Outcome: Operators now glance up at the screen to check the next scheduled setup and job dependencies without leaving their work centres. The shop eliminated manual whiteboard rewriting and reduced daily shift handover meetings to under ten minutes.
